JM actually got into radio through way of nightclubs. He has worked just about every club or wannabe club in the area, and coincedently, each place has closed down after Johnny's departure. The biggest impact he had was at Sidney's Nightclub and within 3 months, he was promoted to the Senior Music Programmer and shortly thereafter was flown to Houston Texas to Core Music University to get certified in Nightclub Music Programming.

The way he got into radio was a unique way. As he put it "I was DJing some area clubs and some radio guys would come in to party and they eventually asked me if I wanted a part-time job...I figured, 'what the hell, I'll try this little radio thing' and once I got there, I saw that many were stale and stagnant...'
