Atlanta firefighters will get new washers, dryers and furnishings thanks to an anonymous donor gifting $150,000 to the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundationâs Fire Station Fund.
This most recent contribution is the largest ever in the history of the Fire Station Fund and will give four Atlanta Fire Rescue Stations in the neighborhoods of Buckhead and Southwest Atlanta the resources to make improvements and upgrades to the interiors of the fire rescue stations.
This includes new furnishings and state-of-the-art washing machines and dryers that help remove carcinogens and other hazardous materials from a firefighter's turnout gear to further protect their health and safety. âOur programs like the Fire Station Fund allow community partners to reinvest in their neighborhoods in the name of public safety,â AFRF executive director Shirley Anne Smith said.
