Almost 40% would Be Happy To Lie About Being Vaccinated

With restrictions regarding COVID-19 constantly changing, adults, vaccinated or not, have considered lying about their vaccination status.

In fact, 38% of adults said they’d consider lying about their COVID-19 vaccination status in order to work, travel, or avoid conflict according to a recent study by SafeHome.org.

Even celebrities do it! Most recently Antonio Brown of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was suspended for possessing a FAKE vaccine card so that he could play in the NFL™. While this situation may not apply to most, SafeHome’s study has examined what circumstances would influence people to lie about their vaccination status and how often they do it.

Key findings from the study found:

• Thirty-eight percent of people said they’d consider lying about whether they’d been vaccinated against COVID-19.
• Younger adults were most open to lying: almost half of people between 18 and 24 said they would consider lying about their vaccination status.
• Overall, unvaccinated people were more likely than vaccinated people to lie or consider lying about their status.
• One in five vaccinated people would consider lying in order to avoid conflict with friends or family. Getting or keeping a job was the main reason unvaccinated people would consider lying about their vaccine status.

In addition to those key findings, more than 1 in 3 adults say they would lie about their vaccination status under the right circumstances. The most common circumstances are for job requirements, to travel, enter businesses and attend college.
