Donald Trump Jr. is starting a new pro-Second Amendment group that will push back on Democrat gun control efforts.

According to a Fox News exclusive on Tuesday, Trump Jr. will serve as the chairman of the new group, dubbed the Second Amendment Task Force

“The Second Amendment is the whole ballgame; it’s the freedom that protects all of our other freedoms. Unfortunately the Biden Administration and Democrats in Congress are hellbent on eroding our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms, whether it’s nominating radical gun-grabbers to senior positions in the executive branch or pushing anti-gun legislation,” Trump Jr. told the outlet. “The Second Amendment Task Force is entirely devoted to ensuring the Left is never successful in disarming American citizens.”

The new pro-gun organization intends to focus on the upcoming midterm elections later this year, particularly where voter registration is concerned. The group will also work to hinder Biden administration nominees and left-wing initiatives that seek to infringe on the right to bear arms.

Trump Jr. said the idea for the group stemmed from his “successful effort to stop a radical anti-gun lobbyist from becoming the head of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF),” referring to President Biden’s failed nominee David Chipman.

“We had to make sure that the American people knew what was going on, especially with Red State Democrats,” Trump Jr. said. “If they’re considering casting an anti-Second Amendment vote, we’re going to make sure they feel the pain. This new group will help us put more structure and resources around those efforts to make sure we’re as successful as we can be.”

While speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Dallas, Texas, last year, Trump Jr. vowed to be “everywhere” during the 2022 midterm elections.

President Joe Biden’s latest order would force gun kits and gun parts to be regulated as fully functional firearms, making it illegal to see the products would a serial number or without the purchaser submitting to a background check.

The gun control push would also compel Federal Firearms License (FFL) holders to keep gun purchase records forever and eventually hand those records over to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) “in effect creating a national firearms registry.”

Earlier this year, Biden said his gun control efforts don’t “violate anybody’s Second Amendment rights,” adding that “no amendment [is] absolute.”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) announced a Congressional Review Act Joint Resolution of Disapproval earlier this month to block the Department of Justice from enforcing the president’s gun control rules.
