Every superhero has a secret identity and an origin story. When Eli Ramos isnât protecting Jersey City as a firefighter, he can be seen putting his superpowers to the test as an art instructor, mural painter, and comic book illustrator. Now heâs teaming up with the West Hudson Arts & Theatre Company (W.H.A.T. Co.) for a series of Spring Arts Classes that begin Monday, March 7.
These classes are part of W.H.A.T.âs initiative to embrace older teens following its appointment of Brandi Leigh-Miller as its new president. This will be a first-of-its-kind class in West Hudson in âComic Book & Manga Art.â Ramos was first introduced to our W.H.A.T. Co. through East Newark Mayor Dina Grillo following his completion of a new mural along Central Avenue adjacent to the newly refurbished Tops Diner.
His goal through his new âComic Book and Manga Artâ class is to help kids find a voice through more non-traditional art forms.
