UFC fighter Kevin Holland foiled an armed robbery Monday at a Texas sushi spot.

According to local reports, the brawler was among a group who subdued a gunman, who managed to fire a shot into the restaurant’s ceiling, before the police arrived at Ra Sushi in Houston.

The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. when the gunman came into the restaurant. Houston Police Department Sgt. Ricardo Salas said about 40 to 50 patrons and workers were present at the time.

While most of the customers took shelter, Holland, 29, and two others jumped into action.

“Everybody started getting down. Next thing you know, me and my buddy, we ran to the shooter, got him down, strangled him, took the gun from him, and then called the police. Police came and got him,” Patrick Robinson, an MMA trainer and friend of Holland’s, recounted to local TV station NBC-2.

Houston police said 24-year-old Jesus Edrai Cardiel Samaniego was arrested and charged with misdemeanor unlawful carrying of a weapon and felony deadly conduct.

Holland didn’t speak to media at the scene, but posted about the incident on Instagram.

Holland previously made headlines outside the octagon by stopping a carjacker in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Holland, a welterweight, won his most-recent match at UFC 272 and sports a career 22-7-0 record.
