The daughter of Massachusetts veteran Joseph Bucko is asking the public for help to celebrate Bucko turning 102 in March.

JoAnn Bucko Frizado put the call out on Facebook in January saying her “dad will be turning 102 years young on March 20th” and that she’d like to do something special.

“I would like to ask anyone who wants to can send him a birthday card it would absolutely make his day,” she wrote. “It would be awesome if he would receive 102 cards for his 102nd birthday.”

But the Swansea resident got a lot more than that — and he’s still more than a month away from his birthday.

“UPDATE: we are at 157 cards,” his daughter posted on Facebook earlier this week. “He has read every single card twice and loves each and every one.”

Bucko is a World War II veteran, 7 News reported.

His daughter is also impressed with how creative some people got. She said three people have used photos she shared on Facebook of her father to custom make him a card, “which was awesome,” she wrote.

Cards can be sent to Joseph Bucko at 43 Laurel Ave. in Swansea.
