Personal heaters sold to public and military have started fires. They’ve been recalled

Personal heaters sold to public and military have started fires. They’ve been recalled Geek Heat Personal Heater (U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission/Released)

Home Easy is recalling 3,000 Geek Heat personal heaters, sold to the military and the public, as fire hazards.

The problem, as stated by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notice: “The toggle power switch can spark when the switch is used, posing a fire hazard.”

And the alert says Home Easy knows about the toggle switch causing a fire three times.

This covers the Home Easy Geek Heat model No. DH-QB06 personal heaters. They were sold online by Walmart, Target, Amazon and Wayfair, Value Zone stores in New Jersey and Army & Air Force Exchange Service stores for around $23.

Home Easy wants consumers to stop using the heaters, unplug them, cut the cord and mark “defective” on it. Take a photo of the cut cord and email [email protected].
